I wonder how much about the whole “Trekkies hate the new Star Trek” thing is simply marketing bullshit. JJ spent most of his personal appearances making sure everybody knew he never liked Star Trek that much to begin with, but fell in love with the reboot because it was new and different. The movie opened more than double what the previous biggest Trek movie did, and I don’t think you get that without most of the fanbase turning up.
Bottom line is, the last couple of Trek movies were horribly dull and despite the plot issues, this new movie was a successful reboot/reimagination/reinvigoration/remarketing of the franchise.
Except for Scotty’s Jar-Jar buddy. What the fuck was that?
WOLVERINE was runny poo.
STAR TREK was good. Shame about the fans.

I think that was Scotty’s alien fuck-toy.
Set phasers on I-Just-Threw-Up-In-My Mouth. Maximum power.
Maximum Risk – good movie.
