Podcast #39 – Movie Computers

The Film Pigs are back with their first podcast of 2013. Steve Skelton is still lost in Poland, but Steve Falk and Television’s Todd Robert Anderson press on with Podcast #39. They break the latest in movie news, discuss computers in the movies, do a cold reading from a lost eighties classic, and Todd does his best with some trivia. Also, Brad Dourif treats us to an epic monologue about rats in Vietnam. Now, that’s entertainment about entertainment!

Commentary #45 – Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)

TV’s Todd and Not TV’s Falk sit down to enjoy the bizarre treat that is Gremlins 2. Half way through the movie they lose interest and start going through Falk’s “Movie Diary” which is a list of everything he saw in the theater since 1990 (and each entry includes who he saw the movies with…listen to Todd’s mind get blown when he realizes what movies he has seen with Steve! Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing!) Also, enjoy the sweet sounds of these two idiots sipping on soup.

Podcast #38 – Holiday Movies

With Stephen Skelton shanghaied in Poland, the Pigs that remain Stateside sit down and bang out the first structured podcast in months. That’s right! This ain’t no bacon…this is a rump roast…or something. Steve Falk and Todd Anderson discuss what makes a good holiday movie, why so many of them are bad, and why there are so many horror movies about Christmas. As if that kind of incredible conversation that nobody has ever had before isn’t enough, an unbelievably unpredictable round of movie jail will leave your head spinning, and then there’s a holiday edition of the Nic Cage Memorial Line Reading, AND a trivia game created by a listener! I don’t think a movie lover could ask for a better Christmas present! (Now, if Skelton was in country, there would be a time code list of the segments so you could skip ahead to your favorite ones. But he’s not here. Todd is lazy. So you are just going to have to wade through the boring parts to get to the gold nuggets. Tough shit.)

Podcast #37 – The Bacon: Todd’s Movie Career

Yes, it’s another Bacon episode. Yes, we’re talking about Todd again. Cut us some slack, we’ve been working and Falk’s been stuck in NY without power. Although, Todd usually has pretty good stories about shows he’s worked on, so this isn’t so bad.

Commentary #44 – Total Recall (1990)

poster_totalrecall

Get your ass to Mars! The Film Pigs are back with a new alternate commentary for the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic TOTAL RECALL! Given the super-dull remake, this exercise in 90s over-the-topness is a breath of fresh air (Cohaagen!). And by “air” we mean a preposterous storyline, ludicrous blood-squib violence, a truly impressive amount of scene-ending quips, and the smoldering rage of Canada’s own negative emotion repository Michael Ironside. Open your miiiiiiinnnnd!

Podcast #36 – The Bacon: Sampling Todd’s DVDs

Once more, unto The Bacon, dear friends! Still flying in missing Pig formation, this episode of the Film Pigs Podcast focuses on Todd Robert Anderson’s terrible mental illness: his obsession with collecting DVDs and Blu-rays. Sequestered in a room lined with shelves of plastic discs, Skelton pulls 12 random movies and demands Todd explain himself before it’s too late. It’s kind of like Intervention, but very lazy and nothing is really accomplished.
