Podcast #11 – Science Fiction
So we got these fancy new microphones that look like little silver thermoses and spent about 3 hours huddled in front of Falk’s Mac trying to get them to work in GarageBand, because we’re professionals. I would never have guessed there would be a bidding war for the Terminator franchise, and I certainly never would have guessed an indie film producer would get involved:
Yesterday, it looked like Lionsgate would win the property with an outright purchase, with an upfront payment of at least half of the $29.5 million that Pacificor spent to claim the property in a bankruptcy auction. That was until Megan Ellison and her Annapurna Films came in with a bid that was higher. (via Deadline)
Now I can’t stop thinking about a Terminator movie that ditches Schwarzenegger and is directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
UPDATE: Looks like she won! Unfortunately, it looks like Schwatrzenegger is still attached to star. As a creaky old Terminator, I guess.
